The brand exercise of MAKINE Coffee consists of a simple two-fold process. First, we imagined a competitive business model for an alternative to a nation-wide coffee retail experience. Second, we planned a brand concept to support it.
“Makine” is the Turkish for “machine”, the obvious tie-in to a coffee retail experience with an emphasis on Turkish coffee preparation, a markedly simple method that is focused and uncluttered when consuming the black stuff. The logo mark supports this theme by featuring the sole instrument used in preparing Turkish coffee– the cezve, a small brass boiling pot –to be used as a repetitive anchoring point for the brand and its peripheral consumables.
