Jesus is the Reason for More Than Christmas
Growing up, we often heard to not talk about religion or politics in the business world. While we tend to abide by the political topic more often, we’re more passionate about the other. Therefore, the least we can do is dedicate this blog to The One whose birthday we celebrate and, more importantly, made it possible for us to be here.
There’s no doubt that come Christmas morning, we will see photos and videos on Facebook and Twitter of kids all over the world receiving awesome presents. While we are all thankful for those gifts, we reflect on their source and go back to Luke 2 to share the story of The Birth of Jesus Christ.
As the early verses of Luke 2 share the facilitation of Mary and Joseph ended up in a manger, one that really grabs us is Luke 2:11 where an angel of The Lord shares “Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is the Messiah, the Lord.” As one of the first messages sent to us from God, this brought us hope of a greater future and forgiveness of our sins.
Further down in verses 28 through 32, the Bible shares how Simeon took Jesus in his arms and praised God, saying “Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you may now dismiss your servant in peace. For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all nations: a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.”
As we continue through this Christmas season, we choose to remember not only the birth of Jesus Christ, but also His sacrifice for us and the gift of eternal life He gave us. May we remember His gift is the most important this season. Merry Christmas!
